Construction Superintendent


Job Description: 
Global Company is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee the complete building gut and
renovation. The Project budget is estimated at 4 to 4.5 million dollars, but will include some complex structural
modifications typically found in higher value projects. The current project is located in a busy urban
environment with the complex administrative challenges and will require the successful candidate to relocate to
either the Middle East or North Africa Region. The candidate should be hand on and capable of managing the
day to day construction activities of a complete interior demolition of a 5-story building. Duties will include
sub-contractor scheduling to maintain owners schedule, subcontractor management for quality control,
manpower loading management, close coordination with the project manager and close coordination with the
design professionals to ensure quality build out for the owner. The candidate will need to be a team builder and
comfortable with working with and managing workers across diverse disciplines and skillsets. Recent overseas
experience, either living or working in the above locations is strongly preferred.

Proficiency in Word, Excel, AutoCAD and Microsoft Project is a plus.

Essential Traits: (Some but not all are required)
● Proven track record of working on variety of commercial, light industrial construction projects
● Ability to successfully coordinate schedules, man power, equipment and resources
● Hands-on manager who is comfortable directing and evaluating on site personnel by staying engaged in all aspects of the project
● Experience navigating challenging local government bureaucratic, i.e. permitting and licensing entities
● Familiarity with Project Management skills, including scope, time and budget management
● Solid understanding of building plans and specifications and the ability to maintain and interpret construction drawings for onsite team
● Ability to maintain a positive relationship with the ownership team and effectively communicate the ownership teams’ goals and priorities to all the field team members while effectively handling any conflicts that arise between the owner's requirements and the onsite team
● Ensure the project complies with all building codes and other requirements; maintain high quality standards and maintain a safe working environment
● Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to maintain a high degree of precision on detailed work
● Capable of overseeing construction issues for which he is not specifically certified
● Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously under time constraints
● Strong written and oral communication skills

Qualifications:
● 10 plus years’ experience managing multi-million-dollar commercial, light industrial projects
● Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering preferred
● 15 years’ experience managing multi-million-dollar commercial, light industrial projects in lieu of bachelor's degree
● Experience working on projects that required significant poser, HVAC, and water system upgrades
● Multilingual with fluency in English and Arabic (additional languages a plus)
● Will be required to relocate to the Middle East / North Africa Region
● Candidates must abide by a drug free workplace policy and are subject to testing
● Must have calm demeanor, be team oriented and willing to receive constructive feedback.
