General Manager - Supply Chain and Logistics
Job Description:
Global company is seeking an experienced General Manager to successfully manage an Asia-based team
responsible for warehousing and distribution, global logistics, trade/regulatory and environmental
compliance, and international order fulfillment. This position leads all aspects of shipping and receiving
with small and mid-sized international clients located across multiple geographic regions.
The General Manager plans, directs, and manages day-to-day operations of the distribution facility with
a specific responsibility of overseeing the handling, storage, and distribution to the end customer.
Successful candidates with have significant operations manager experience, while carrying out the
company’s business plan in compliance with established laws/regulations and industry standards.

The General Manager should be able to conduct the following range of activities:
- Strive for continuous improvement in our distribution center with a specific focus on identifying best practices to achieve uncompromised customer satisfaction.
- Design and implement a logistics strategy which meets current/strategic objectives while also meeting customer needs focusing on cost, speed, and reliability.
- Develop relationships with key transportation providers, negotiate rates and contracts as needed, and help develop service metrics with all carriers and outsourced partners.
- Ability to interact and communicate with people across various organizational functions. Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Understand and ensure compliance with import/export regulatory laws as needed; manage relationships with local customs brokers and local authorities as appropriate.
- Oversee and participate in the business development efforts of the sales team. Ensure current customer relations are maintained and strengthened, expand business with new customers in current channels and in adjacent industries.
Key Job Requirements:
- BS degree in Supply Chain Management or Masters in Business Administration preferred
- Knowledge of Warehousing and Transportation Management Systems required
- Understanding of general Supply Chain Management and International Transportation
- Preferred candidate will have prior Third Party Logistics (3PL) work experience in Asia
