Plant Maintenance Engineer
Job Description: The Plant Maintenance Engineer (PME) is responsible for the overall operating performance of a warehouse. Typical responsibilities will include operations, engineering/maintenance and production scheduling.
The PME plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls all warehouse engineering and plant maintenance activities. The selection, development and motivation of all warehouse employees are also key responsibilities. The PME is accountable for achieving prescribed company objectives in regard to cost, schedule and quality. The PME will be responsible for the development of systems and procedures for operating and managing the facility, human resources, equipment and products in a profitable manner. The PME will also plan, direct and implement warehouse engineering and operations administrative support to meet prescribed productivity and service goals and to ensure operations are in compliance with federal, state and local statutes. The PME directs operations of the warehouse team to achieve prescribed objectives. Develops and maintains productive a work team by creating programs for hiring, training and professional development. Matches the skill and background of personnel to work required. Applies sound communication and motivational techniques, creates programs to supervise, counsel and discipline subordinates. Recognizes discipline and confrontation techniques are a positive mean to provide feedback to individuals.
Advises the MIS department of the necessary information system required for unique or special applications consistent with the goals to maximizing warehouse efficiency and follows up to verify system installation on an “as needed” basis.
PME develops and recommends annual operating and maintenance budget. Develops and manages a system of controls to ensure that service levels and operational performance goals are met within prescribed cost, revenue and profit parameters. Participates in local trade, professional and civic association as a representative of the company.

Requirements:
- 5-10 years of engineering experience. Mechanical engineers with climate-controlled facility experience are desired.
- 5-10 years of management experience in warehouse or manufacturing facilities are desired
- Experience and knowledge of climate-controlled warehouse procedures and activities.
- Complete understanding of the engineering and technical aspects of a public refrigerated warehouse industry is desirable.
- Cold storage technical experience in an ammonia plant is highly desirable.
- Significant HVAC experience is desirable. Hospital Maintenance Engineers would also qualify.

- International travel. Relocation to region required.
